Gleaning at Farmers’ Markets

Ron Murphy has been gleaning at the Orono Farmers’ Market for several years, collecting food donations from farmers for the Crossroads Ministries’ pantries. Crossroads has a walk-in cooler, which enables them to store fresh produce, which has been increasingly popular with their patrons. The Orono Farmers’ Market has one of the oldest gleaning programs at a Maine farmers’ market.
