Support Maine’s Farmers, Markets, and Food Access

With over 100 farmers’ markets across Maine, each market provides fresh, local food to communities and sustains dozens of local farms and food businesses. At the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets (MFFM), we’re committed to helping these markets thrive and to creating a healthier, more equitable food system. But we need supporters like you to fuel this mission.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Your contribution will directly impact our core work:

  • Empowering Mainers to Buy Local: Through the Maine Harvest Bucks program, we make it possible for low-income Mainers to purchase fresh, Maine-grown fruits and vegetables. With SNAP/EBT processing at markets statewide, we’re enabling vulnerable families to access nourishing foods while supporting local farms. In 2024 alone, this initiative has generated over $600,000 in sales annually at Maine’s farmers’ markets.
  • Supporting Farmers and Market Organizers: We provide resources, staffing support, and education to farmers, markets, and vendors across the state. Additionally, our Bumper Crop program channels workplace wellness funds directly to markets, helping employees experience the joy of local food while boosting vendor income.

How You Can Help

Join us today with a recurring monthly donation of any amount and help create a sustainable, thriving food system that serves both farmers and families. Thank you for your commitment to Maine’s farmers, markets, and communities!

Your donation will allow us to expand these initiatives and create a lasting impact on Maine’s food system. Just $10 a month can help fund essential resources for market organizers, advocate for food access funding, and increase our outreach to connect more Mainers to fresh, local food. We need to raise over $150,000 each year to keep these programs running, and every contribution brings us closer to this goal.
