Cooking Education Resources in Maine

With a growing variety of produce being offered at farmers’ markets, a question may arise to some- how do I cook it?!

Maine is fortunate to have multiple organizations dedicated to helping individuals and families eat healthier.  Cooking is an essential skill, yet some of us grow up never learning how to do it!  Fortunately, there are resources available to bring out your inner-chef and see how EASY it is to cook the wide variety of the foods found at farmers’ markets.

Maine SNAP-Ed hosts a variety of classes geared towards different ages.  Head on over to their website and provide your contact information to learn more about their free classes and programs led by Nutrition Educators.

The Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine offers Cooking Matters- hands on cooking and nutrition classes led by volunteer professional chefs and nutritionists for low-income people.
