Friends of Maine Farmers’ Markets is an annual membership program that makes it all possible by supporting the behind-the-scenes work that goes into farmers’ market viability: voucher programs that boost farmers’ income, promotional efforts that keep markets growing, payment systems that remove administrative burdens from farmers, and educational resources that empower self-organized markets to thrive.

When you become a Friend, you’re directly supporting a network of farmers’ markets across Maine that work hard to serve their communities. In 2026, due to an overwhelming need, funds raised through this campaign support food access programming that ensures everyone in the community can eat well — including programs like Maine Harvest Bucks and Maine Senior Farmshare.

Friends of Maine Farmers’ Markets is an annual campaign run by the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets, a statewide nonprofit that supports a network of markets across Maine.
